Saturday Haiku: “The Sidekick”
Here’s to the hero
beside The Invincible.
The one who feels pain.
You work in shadow,
Seeing distant dangers
and tracking them down.
You’re the one taken
in hostage situations
who puts others first.
Some might see you as:
weaker, smaller, less appealing,
more human, more us…
Or who we want to be.
When the chips are down,
You provide the pep talk
that changes the tide.
That’s why we cheer
when you live to fight again.
Maybe we’ll join you.

Lone Restaurant

but robbed by many a bum.
So, now it’s a hollow ghost. Who suffered?

Limerick: The Senator

“Poverty” Illustration by Paul Lachine

This opinion, he stressed,
’til his father confessed
food stamps had been their life-savior.

The Midsummer Terror
I awoke one fateful night, with many a terrible bite. The constant itching made them red. Then, on window siding…I saw a creature climbing. With it’s wings gripping…and a long needled head. “I’ll never get back to my dreaming,” I … Continue reading
